Thank the Lord for SAS

Suarez-sturridgeNO, I haven’t been recently converted or found God, but if there is an omnipotent being that controls the universe and makes decisions seemingly on a whim, then I would like to offer up my most sincere gratitude and thanks to Him (or Her), as they have given us the most deadly, technically impressive and potentially awesome strike-force the Premier League has seen since Bergkamp and Henry.

It’s something we’ve suspected since the first glimpses of the two together late last season, and in Suarez’s absence Sturridge has only enhanced his own, individual reputation, but together these are the two best strikers – and the best partnership – in the Premier League and they will cover up many of Liverpool’s cracks this season. Wasted Youth: Pressure to succeed not just a top-level issue

Joao-Carlos-TeixeiraDURING the long, tedious summer months a number of young Reds left the club for new, temporary homes.

The likes of Suso, Ngoo, Borini, Coady and Teixeira moved to lower league (or in Suso’s case, La Liga) sides in order to gain first-team experience. Read More…

Is Will Hughes Good Enough To Warrant This Expense?

imageIt is one of those rumours which has persisted since the summer and appears to be building up quite a head of steam as the player progresses rapidly for Derby County and interest builds from Liverpool’s rivals but reports on Sunday morning suggest that Liverpool have jumped to the top of the queue as Hughes is currently preferring a move to the Reds.

Should that progress continue though, it is likely that Liverpool’s rivals for the youngsters signing may become more threatening with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona all reportedly keeping their eye on the young Derby midfielder, and with the spending power the likes of those have it would be difficult for Liverpool to match any bid or wage offers. Montague’s Mount – PC Review

Montagues-Mount-04_1920

Coming from one-man team, Matt Clifton, at Polypusher Studios Montague’s Mount is referred to on the official game site as “a first person psychological roller-coaster ride… “. I would certainly concur that the game brings the psychological elements of gaming to the fore, the speed of the game’s protagonist could hardly be compared to that of a ‘roller-coaster ride’.

A short trip around a small portion of the island can take – what feels like – forever, as your stranded, ship-wrecked main character stumbles and ambles around beaches, fields and seemingly uninhabited buildings. Read More…

Will Dan just have to bide his time?

imagesIT’S not something many of us could’ve expected at the start of the season but, as on Saturday afternoon, Dan Agger may well have to be content with a place on the bench, unless the international break brings some injury woes.

Admittedly, he was probably not fully-fit on Saturday, hence his place on the bench, but then, as many an old-schooler will tell you: if he’s fit enough to be on the bench, he’s fit enough to play. Read More…

Rodgers believes Liverpool can still improve

article-2420883-196B2FEF000005DC-902_634x376LIVERPOOL now sit proudly near the top of the Premier League – second only to Arsenal, due to an inferior ‘goals scored’ record – going into yet another international break.

With 7 games gone, the Reds are one of the real form teams in the division and with the return of Luis Suarez appear capable of hitting even greater heights. Read More…

Trevor Phillips: The Perfect Embodiment of GTA?

Trevor-Philips-2

(*possible spoilers ahead*)

Throughout the first 10-15 hours of my first play through of GTA V I have been very reluctant to play the game as Trevor. I couldn’t quite put my finger on why. Maybe it was because I found Michael more relatable, given that his current life is more akin to my own.

Well, at least closer to my own than a kid from the ‘hood and a meth-dealing lunatic. Read More…

I’m Treating Suarez’s Return With Utmost Caution

Luis-SuarezI’D spoken a lot over the summer about Luis Suarez’s career – and future – at Liverpool.

In him, I thought I’d found another idol, only to then discover that he’d had his heart set elsewhere and would stop at (sometimes, literally!) nothing to make that move happen for himself. Read More…
